Recent news..

My horoscope for today:

"Becoming more involved in the life of another person can be a tricky thing -- you don't want to share too much too soon, but you don't want to hold back when there's a magical opportunity to really connect. This delicate balance is something you can easily achieve if just you take things slowly! If you give yourself -- and give them -- the space and time necessary to get used to changes, all will go very smoothly. Just don't rush it. They aren't going anywhere and neither are you."

Perfect for this passionate heart.

What I left behind.

I think it's true wherever you are, your not content. It's seems throughout my life, I have always been longing for the next step.
When I was in High School, I wanted the freedom of college.
In college, I wanted summer, and got sick of class and studying counting down until graduation.
While teaching, summer and snow days kept me going, always thinking about how to get a new life. (and out of Ohio)
Now, it seems the trend continues.

My life here is SO easy, I have very few bills, live for free, go to class 3 days a week. A far cry from long days teaching, grinding away till Friday, with contests on Saturday and dreading Sunday because that meant my weekend was ending.

While I enjoy having "me" time. I miss the classroom. I miss my friends, and with the onset of fall, I miss the brilliant colors of autumn. Miss my runs at John Bryan will Jill. Staff Meetings and ribbing Jane in the office. I miss students stopping by to shoot some B.S and I miss coaching contests. I miss watching OSU football with friends.

On a different note. I am a wedding picture facebook stalker. Yah, I know it's weird. But, I love looking through wedding albums whether I know the people or not. I guess, it's how I express my awe of the institution. And I love looking at happy, gorgeous people.

Southern Charm

Just a quick update.

I am in College Station. I drove over 1,100 miles and moved to the hottest part of the country in July. Sweet. I find myself here in a time warp. My new job as a Hall Director requires me to strain to remember fall of 2000. Yeah, 8 years ago I lived in Scott 214, as a college freshman. Now I am in charge of a 650 member residence hall. In general I love every minute, working with the RA's is my favorite, they are all unique and bring strengths to the table that make me proud to be in this role.

Texas A & M is the Ohio State version of the South: just in big money, Sr. boot wearing, big truck driving kinda way. Seriously, the campus is the 5th largest, big into research, semi-good college football, with southern flair. I feel fortunate to be involved with undergrads, advising, coaching and teaching just in a different way. And for the most part, I like it here. But here, sure isn't home.

I miss teaching. I know, shocking huh?
